Handloom Weave: A handloom Banarasi saree will have floating threads or a "jaal" (mesh) on the reverse side of the motifs. These threads are a hallmark of the intricate weaving process done on a handloom. There may also be slight irregularities or knots, which are a sign of human craftsmanship and not a defect.
This label, issued by the Silk Mark Organisation of India, certifies that the saree is made from 100% pure natural silk. A modern Silk Mark tag may have a QR code for instant verification.
